Niger is a landlocked country in West Africa, one of the largest countries in Africa by land area, though much of its territory consists of the Sahara Desert in the north.

The country has a population of approximately 25 million people, with the majority living in the more fertile southern regions. Niger’s economy relies heavily on agriculture, livestock, and uranium mining – it’s one of the world’s largest uranium producers. The official language is French.
